Outpatient Drug Rehab Pennsylvania

Outpatient Drug Rehab Pennsylvania

Outpatient Rehab Pennsylvania is an excellent choice for the person who wants to stop using their drug of choice but wants to work around their schedule. This may be the first step of recovery for someone who has a mild substance abuse problem that was caught early. It may also be the Next Step of a recovering drug addict that has gone through detox, withdrawals and inpatient care. In outpatient care, you are not in a hospital setting, and it is much more relaxed than it was in inpatient care.

Outpatient drug rehab offers group and individual counseling sessions. These sessions can be scheduled at different times during the week to accommodate work or responsibilities at home. There are different levels of treatment intensity and outpatient rehab as well as different types of programs. The kind of program may be based on the drug used and how severe the addiction is. It may also be based on the stage of recovery you are in. There are three main types of patient rehab. You and your doctor or counselor will need to determine which one is best suited to your individual needs.

One type about patient rehab is day programs. In a day program, you go to the facility a few hours a day 5 to 7 days a week. This is the most intense of the types of outpatient care. While there, you participate in group counseling, individual counseling and other forms of therapy such as art, pet, or music. You return home or to a sober living home. A sober living home is similar to a group home for people recovering from drug addiction. Because of the time you need to spend at the facility your job or school may have to wait until the program is completed.

Another type of patient programs is an intensive outpatient program or IOP. In this program, some milestones are set by your treatment team. As these Milestones are met, the amount of time needed for therapy decreases. This is a good option for the person who sincerely wants to be clean from alcohol or drugs but still needs to be able to work and have daily responsibilities to take care of. However, this program may consist of several types of sessions for a few hours a week. Some of the sessions may include relapse prevention, 12-step programs as well as group and individual therapy sessions.

The third type of outpatient rehab is continuing care. Continuing Care consist of groups like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA). Most of these groups meet weekly and are in place to help you remain sober. Some of these groups maybe age or gender specific. There are some that specific to the drug of choice. In these groups, you will form friendships and share valuable information and experiences with fellow members.

Here at Montco recovery, we are committed to helping you learn to live a life that is free from drugs and to remain sober.
